Santiago's journeys relates to me by the way he wanted to give up. But didn't, i remember always setting goals and always wanting to succeed, but sometimes wanted to give up on it. But i would try not to, even if it was very hard, i still have goals which aren't complete, but it takes time.. so I'll just be patient..
I thought it was sad how that guy stole Santiago's money. i mean it was partly his fault for letting the guy hold it. but still, he had nothing left with him.. only a pouch with the two stones Urim & Thummim inside. But the good thing was that he found a good job at the Crystal shop. He helped the owner get more customers and much more money. So he earned lots of money. Which was good ! (:

Maybe he was supposed to be robbed that day, because in order to fulfill your personal legend you have to go through obstacles, difficulties, etc. That was probably one of them-that was maybe a test, to see what he would do next. When he worked with the crystal merchant, he received a lot of money after working almost a year with him, he could just decide to go back home and stay as a shepherd and throw away his personal legend, ignore it. Omens kept appearing calling to him, telling him to go to the pyramids.
I agree with Vicky... maybe it was just an obstacles he had to face to pursue his personal legend... it was sad because he was left with no money. but it was good becuz then he got to work with the crystal merchant.
